Description

This course investigates major theories of photography from the Nineteenth Century up to the present. Theories of photography studied include realism, modernism, semiotics-structuralism, postmodernism and post-structuralism, and theories arising from the advent of digital photography. These theories are explored through the study of a broad range of photographic practices, Australian and international, historical and contemporary.
