Description
This course is part of the practice orientated teaching trajectory ‘Calibrating’ combining Stream 2: Optimisation and Decision Support and Stream 7: BIM Modelling.
The course focuses on computer-aided building simulation and optimisation, to apply systems that analyse existing conditions, support planning decisions, improve performance optimise efficiencies and achieve financial savings. Students will engage in debate about findings in structural engineering, environmental engineering, finance, and science to study how the built environment can be simulated and optimised. Projects in this course will predict future performances and deliver simulated findings. To be followed by further study of results to overcome the discrepancies between simulated and actual building performance.
