This fully online course will introduce students to ten examples of creative and innovative thinking, taken from contemporary published case studies from a range of disciplines. Through analysis and critical discussion of these examples, students will learn to understand more clearly what happens when the creative mind is at work. Students will have an opportunity to develop an awareness of current research into creativity. Various approaches discussing creative thinking’s impact on society will be explored.

The course is structured around Ten Universal Themes, including change, systems, relationships and exploration. Collaborative creative theory and practice have the potential to extend and enhance outcomes in multi-disciplinary thinking through applied understanding. Models of creative thinking will be studied and discussed in relation to film, design, scientific, medical, art, entertainment and other communities and industries. Creative concepts, schemas, frameworks and maps will be developed by students in set coursework, to facilitate more effective processes.
