Description


Lectures, tutorials and museum study sessions aimed at increasing understanding of important disease processes. Comparisons between normal and abnormal cell, tisssue and organ function will be made. Includes processess of cell and tissue degeneration, acute and chronic inflammation, regeneration and repair, infection, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, embolism and infarction. Particular examples include diseases of practical importance such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, pulmonary embolism and myocardial infarction. Aberrations of cell growth introduces neoplasia with examples of common tumours.
