Description

This course covers the science of engineering mechanics and its practical applications. Topics include the following: Plane kinematics and kinetics of rigid bodies; equations of motion, work and energy, impulse and momentum; Gyroscopic effects; Gear kinematics, involute profile and involute action; Gear trains, epicyclic gears; Static and dynamic balancing; Kinematics and kinetics of mechanisms; Introduction to mechanical vibration; single degree-of-freedom spring-mass-damper systems.
