Description


This course introduces students to the technologies and theory needed to understand and manage maintenance programs for aircraft and aviation equipment. Background theory includes introduction to stress and stress concentrators, fatigue, corrosion, vibrations and wear; operation and monitoring of aircraft systems and avionics; maintenance and repair technologies and maintenance management. Role of CASA; data mining and trend analysis; Weibull Analysis; MSG-3 and reliability centred maintenance. Examples will be from airframe, powerplant and systems maintenance.
