Our MGH program trains global health leaders of tomorrow who are work-ready, robust and flexible to work across many settings and jurisdictions. You will graduate with a firm understanding of global health issues, advanced disciplinary knowledge and technical capacities, as well as the passion to drive solutions in global health. Gain confidence in your skills and learn to lead and work with people from diverse backgrounds. You will be taught by our experienced multidisciplinary team of research active academics who work across the Asia-Pacific and sub-Saharan African regions and beyond. Our MGH graduates typically find work through a range of employers, including bilateral and multilateral international aid organisations, UN-based organisations, civil society and NGOs, private foundations, health departments, academia, and development-based organisations. of populations.

Program Structure

Students must complete 48 UOC when taken as a standalone program.

1. Core Courses - 24 UOC
2. Global Health Prescribed Electives - 12-24 UOC
3. Prescribed Electives - 0-12 UOC
4. Infectious Diseases Control Specialisation - 0-24 UOC. Students who wish to complete the specialisation must complete at least 12 UOC of specialisation electives that also meet Global Health Prescribed Elective program requirements.
5. PHCM9100 - Academic Practice - 0 UOC - Required enrolment for International students who completed their previous studies in a non-English speaking country.

Award with Excellence

The Award with Excellence is awarded in coursework masters programs, including Masters (Extension) but with the exception of Masters (Extended) such as JD and MD, when a Weighted Average Mean (WAM) of at least 80% has been achieved and at least 50% of the requirements of the award are completed at UNSW. All eligible programs will award 'with Excellence' except in special circumstances where approval of Academic Board has been given for a program to opt out.
