common and civil law systems and comparative law methodology;introduction to Australian law - history and principles;introduction to Australian legal institutions: parliament and democracy; courts and judicial review; and the executive;case studies on contemporary legal issues (which may include comparative case studies on marriage equality, national security responses, Indigenous peoples).

Prerequisite: Program must be either 6001 or 6021.
