Description
This course is designed to prepare students for professional Translation practice in the professional settings. It also helps students to acquire essential introductory knowledge about the localisation industry. The course has three main focuses: Technology – focusing on understanding the technological framework of the industry and hands-on experience of Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools; Professional Practice – focusing on translation project management and professional conducts; Industry Knowledge – focusing on the big picture of the Translation market. Tutorials will be conducted in a computer lab where students will have access to Internet resources and a leading CAT tool - memoQ.
