Description


This course examines the strategic management of information systems and technology in the organization. The course considers the role IS/IT plays in the creation and realisation of the business strategy, the way in which IS/IT investments are justified, the management of the IS/IT assets and the configuration of the IS/IT effort. The course also address contemporary strategic issues such the use of outsourcing and the business value of IT. Both theoretical and practical perspectives are taken and the course makes considerable us of cases and examples to illustrate concepts and focus class discussions. The experiences of the course participants will also be an important component of the course. This course will be of benefit to all practitioners looking towards a career in the management of information systems.
