Description

This course considers current issues in tort law and focuses on providing some of the tools necessary to understand how the law of tort(s) might develop in new contexts. The course reviews recent developments in a range of torts, including intentional torts, economic torts, and torts covering claims for personal injury including negligence. The course does not review the tort of defamation. In addition it considers the interaction between tort and human rights in a number of countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom and how rights might be protected in a country without a Bill of Rights such as Australia.
